Marcelo Bizzarri

Theater teacher, dancer, Yoga instructor, Active Global Stretching® instructor, Thai massage masseur.

Throughout my life I have been motivated to learn and research about health and the body itself through different movement practices. Sports, dance and yoga were and are today the means for my personal and professional development. I feel enormously grateful for having the possibility to walk this inspiring path and to be able to share my experience with those who feel the same enthusiasm about it.

An embodied experience

An embodied experience

Since I was a child, the body occupied a very important place in my life. The sustained practice of different sports throughout my childhood and adolescence allowed me to develop physical skills that gave me a lot of pleasure.

This deepened when I began to study theater, first as a hobby and then to become a teacher. A new stage began with the discovery that the body could be a means of communication, of expression. A body present on stage required a particular training, a very different consciousness from that of sport. Knowledge about anthropological theater dazzled me in this regard.

Then dance enriched this path even more, working intensely for 4 years in a professional contemporary dance company in Argentina. There I was able to deepen my experience and my body knowledge by adding the theoretical study on the body for its better understanding.

Throughout this period doubts began to arise, questions about health, care of the body, care of the mind. Dance facilitated the path towards those questions and a new world opened up, bringing practices and body techniques that today are part of my daily life.

The Yoga

The Yoga

I began to practice yoga with a book, doing the postures  in the afternoons at home. I would correct myself, keep the posture for a few minutes and after half an hour of practice I finish with deep breaths to relax. Years later, being already a dancer, the practice of yoga became constant, before starting the dance class, at a yoga studio or at home before going to sleep.

The constant routine triggered a special love for yoga that led me to delve deeper into the study of philosophy and asanas. After studying for a year and a half, I became an instructor. This produced a substantial change in my practice and my vision of yoga. Since then I have been able to share what I have learned with other people, along with those questions that have motivated me from the beginning.

The Thai Massage

The Thai Massage

Ever since I started studying Thai massage, it has caught me. Before each new session, I experience a particular sensation of tranquility from where I begin to flow with the client, in a kind of choreography that invites them to accompany my movements and let themselves be carried away by the dance. This transforms each session into an active meditation, in which I work my presence, my way of being, being and doing.

It is at the same time a beautiful challenge since it involves a deep observation of the person to understand their needs and thus apply my knowledge for the benefit of their well-being.

I believe that in Thai massage a bond of trust is created thanks to the close contact between client and masseur, which is essential to lead the person to a deep state of relaxation. Applying the appropriate pressure, the appropriate movement, observing the respiratory rhythm are among others, elements that contribute to the warmth, the security, and the quality of contact and that determine said confidence.

It is a very gratifying moment when at the end of the massage session, we share with the client the same revitalizing sensation that this beautiful dance gives us.
